Youth Energy Initiative promoting solar power in schools and charitable organizations
Sam Yago of Youth Energy Initiative's creative team has a plan to help schools self generate a portion of their electricity consumption using solar panels. The goal is for students to monitor the electricity generated from the solar cells and get an appreciation for how this renewable energy can be used to power devices within the schools such as lighting and computers. Students can also learn how the energy saved reduces carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. "Solar projects are one avenue to help kids at an early age get a hands on approach to energy conservation and its impact on the environment. Student participation will help influence their awareness and habits in the future" explained Sam.
